NYC HALF MARATHON

My Journey…

Running the half Marathon is easily one of the top achievements of my 22 years.  The energy and the whole experience truly was life changing.  I began running only two months prior to the race … ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE IF YOU BELIEVE.

NYC is the most inspiring City I’ve ever had the pleasure to visit.  The people made it for me – Everyone was so welcoming and positive.  The vibes are unbeatable!!!  …Not forgetting the shopping!!!!!!  I visited big stores like Victoria Secrets <3 and Abercrombie and I found some really cute little shops too, one of my fav’s was Brandy and Melville.

 Safia Minney is easily one of the kindest, most inspirational people I’ve ever met.  Safia is the founder of Fair Trade and environmental fashion label People Tree.  Safia turned a lifelong interest in environmental, trade and social justice issues into a business and is regarded as one of the worlds foremost commentators of Fair Trade in the fashion industry.

Unethical fashion means very very little accountability and knowledge of the supply chain. Demanding extremely quick production and producers playing off against each other. Leaving a wage that doesn’t even afford the worker an adequate salary for two meals a day.  Most of this unsustainable fashion is found on our high streets.  Safia wants to make a change…

People Tree is supported by actress Emma Watson who designed a collection for www.peopletree.co.uk that spoke to a younger generation. Emma went out to Bangladesh to experience first hand how Fair Trade clothing is made.
